[Archived] Charles Houston Recreation Presents the ACPS Secondary Schools Jazz Extravaganza

The future of Jazz is presented at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St., on Friday, June 3 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Under the direction of Mr. Vaughn Ambrose, musician, teacher, and band director at Francis C. Hammond Middle School, Rich Seracino Director of GW Middle school Jazz Band and, Doug Rogers Director of Minnie Howard Jazz Band, enjoy a show stomping night of music and dance from budding young artists from the T. C. Williams High School, Minnie Howard Ninth Grade Center, George Washington Middle School and Francis C. Hammond Middle School Jazz Ensembles.  This concert is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for admission.

In addition, the Extravaganza features the Alexandria City Community Theatre (ACCT) and Deonna Ball, a national hand and swing dance champion. ACCT performers will enchant the audience with jazz dance routines aligning with the musical threads of the evening’s concert.
