[Archived] Alexandria Police Officer Arrested

Earlier today an arrest warrant from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was served on an Alexandria police officer for his connection in a case involving the fraudulent sale of motor vehicles.  The officer is identified as Angel Roa, a four year veteran with the Alexandria Police Department.  He was charged with obtaining money by fraud or false pretenses.  The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing.

In accordance with our policy regarding employees who are charged with felony criminal offenses, Roa has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.

“Officer Roa is entitled to due process, however, I want to assure residents that the Alexandria Police does not tolerate criminal or other inappropriate behavior of any kind from our employees,” said Chief Earl Cook.
