[Archived] Alexandria Police Charge City Employee with Assault and Battery

Alexandria Police arrested an employee of the Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities for his involvement in a physical assault on a juvenile that occurred last night about 7:00 p.m.  Robert D. Gordon, 55, of Temple Hills, Maryland, was charged with one count of assault and battery following an investigation into a physical altercation with an 11-year-old boy which occurred during a basketball game at the Charles Barrett Recreation Center.  Gordon is the Center’s Director.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Adult Detention Center.
