[Archived] Artwork Concepts on Public Display for the Mark Center Transportation Center

Artwork concepts being considered for the Mark Center Transportation Center will be on display at the William Ramsay Recreation Center March 24, 2011 through March 31, 2011. In partnership with the City of Alexandria, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Washington Headquarters Service, Duke Realty, and Wisnewski Blair & Associates welcomes the public to view and comment on the artwork concepts. The public’s comments will be taken into consideration by the Mark Center Transportation Center Artwork Selection Committee.

Artists whose concepts will be on display:

Linda DePalma
Cheryl Foster
Heidi Lippman
Dierdre Saunder

The Mark Center Transportation Center Artwork Selection Committee will evaluate the artwork concepts and select the winning artist to provide artwork for the Transportation Center. The artwork is anticipated to be installed in the fall of 2011.

The William Ramsay Recreation Center is located at 5650 Sanger Avenue in Alexandria, VA. The artwork concepts will be open for display during the recreation center’s normal operating hours. Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.
