What does ACCT have to offer? ACCT provides fun theatre games, art activities, and field trips to performances throughout the region. The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities celebrates Black History Month at multiple recreation centers throughout February. ARTS IN ALEXANDRIA

City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts Seeking Volunteers to Serve on Resource Panels
The Alexandria Commission for the Arts is seeking volunteers with experience and interest in dance, literature, music, theatre and visual arts to serve on Resource Panels.  Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating Fiscal Year 2012 grant applications for grantees seeking funding for various arts programs. JONES POINT PARK IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE

In close collaboration with the City of Alexandria and the National Park Service, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project is embarking on a major restoration effort at Jones Point Park. Construction efforts began in December 2010 with completion anticipated in June 2012. To maintain public safety during construction, access to some portions of the park will be temporarily or intermittently closed while improvements are being made.
