[Archived] Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery at Virginia Commerce Bank Located on Prince Street

Alexandria Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Friday, October 8 at the Virginia Commerce Bank, located at 1414 Prince Street.  Around 5:45 P.M., a man walked into the bank and approached the teller.  He handed the teller a bag, demanded cash and brandished a handgun.  The teller complied.  The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described a black male, 5 feet 9 inches with a thin build.  He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark gray or black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.  The investigation is ongoing.
