[Archived] Alexandria Police Seek Help to Identify Suspect in Grocery Store Burglary

 


The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect wanted in a burglary that occurred at the Giant Food Store located at 425 East Monroe Avenue.

Between 9:45 PM on September 26 and 12:30 AM on September 27, an unknown suspect was caught on surveillance video inside the store after the store had closed for the night.  The suspect had hidden somewhere inside the store until all employees had left and then walked through the store, filling a backpack with items before leaving. 

The suspect is described as black, 35-45 years old, 5’10” to 6’0”, with a medium build, short black hair and a full beard and mustache.  He was wearing a green or gray hooded jacket, gray or blue jeans and black shoes with white soles.  He was carrying a green and khaki or gray and khaki backpack with black straps.
