[Archived] Alexandria Police Seek Help to Identify Suspect in Mount Vernon Avenue Robbery

The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect wanted in a robbery that occurred in the 3400 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. 

On July 22, around 2:30 a.m., a 47-year-old Alexandria man working as a store clerk, was approached by a man who asked to purchase cigarettes.  When the clerk opened the cash register to give the man his change, the man climbed over the counter and took the money from the register.  The suspect then fled the area.  The clerk was not injured in the robbery. 

The suspect in the robbery is described as black, 35 to 45 years old, five feet eight inches to five feet nine inches tall, with a shaved head.  He was wearing khaki cargo shorts, a dark green shirt with white writing on the front and black sneakers.

Photos and video of the suspect were caught on a surveillance camera.
