Alexandria Police Seek Help to Identify Suspect in Seminary Road Robbery

The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect wanted in a robbery that occurred in the 5200 block of Seminary Road.

On July 8, around 10:00 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was walking home, when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her and took her purse.  The suspect then fled the area.  The victim was not seriously injured.
The suspect in the robbery is described as white, five feet seven inches to five feet nine inches, weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds, with a shaved head.

The next day, July 9, the victim’s credit cards were used by a man in two stores in Reston and Clifton, Virginia.  The pictures of the suspect were caught on a video surveillance camera.

Anyone recognizing the man depicted in the pictures or anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call Detective Tom Buckley at 703.838.4897 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703.838.4858.

Detectives would like to remind witnesses that they can remain anonymous.
