Alexandria Police Investigate Exposures on the West End

Alexandria Police are investigating a series of indecent exposures that have occurred in the West End of the City since March of this year.  The first incident occurred on Tuesday, March 16, around 5:00 p.m.  In that case, a woman was walking on the bike path along Eisenhower Avenue in the 4000 block, when she heard a man call out to her; she turned and saw a man exposing himself near the woods.  The victim immediately called police and the suspect disappeared into a wooded area.

Since the first case, there have been four other incidents of a man exposing himself on the bike paths along Eisenhower Avenue, Holmes Run Parkway and Holmes Run Park.  In each case, the victim’s were walking on the bike paths when a man draws their attention and then exposes himself to them.  Detectives are looking at the possibility that some of these cases are related.

The suspect is described as white or hispanic, 20-30 years old, five feet six inches to six feet two inches tall, weighing 150 to 160 pounds with reddish or light brown hair.

The other exposures are below:

• Tuesday, April 20, 4:00 p.m., bike path in the 4100 block of Eisenhower Avenue
• Tuesday, April 27, 7:00 p.m., bike path in the 4500 block of Holmes Run Parkway
• Monday, May 3, 7:15 p.m., in the 4600 block of Duke Street /Holmes Run Park bike path
• Monday, June 7, 8:00 p.m., in the 4600 block of Duke Street/ Holmes Run Park bike path
