Alexandria Police DWI Enforcement Results

Alexandria police conducted a stationary DWI enforcement effort to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers from 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 22, to 6:00 A.M. on Sunday, May 23.  Vehicles were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.
 
Approximately 151 motorists passed through the checkpoint in the 200 block of West Glebe Road.  Three arrests were made for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).  Seventeen summonses and six violation warnings were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

Nine Alexandria officers, two parking enforcement officers, one emergency communications technician and one deputy with the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office participated in the checkpoint.
