Alexandria Police Investigate Larceny of City Property

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a larceny that occurred over the weekend at the Hensley Park District facility located in the 4200 block of Eisenhower Avenue.  Sometime between 3:30 P.M. on Friday, May 7 and 7:00 A.M. Monday, May 10, the suspect(s) scaled a fence and broke into a storage shed that contained lawn equipment owned by the City.  The lawn equipment was loaded onto a trailer that was attached to a Ford F-450 Crew Cab truck and driven through a closed and locked gate.  All of the property and vehicles are owned by the City of Alexandria Parks and Recreation Department.   

The Ford F-450 is described as navy blue with the City of Alexandria seal on both sides of the truck and the number 7108 in white stickers on each front quarter panel.  The trailer that was attached is a Hudson brand and contained a standup mower, five weed eaters, two backpack blowers, two string edgers and one chain saw.  The value of the truck, trailer and equipment is estimated to be approximately $82,000 and the damage to the facility and other truck is approximately $10,000.
