Thursday, May 13 - Ad Hoc Fort Ward Park and Museum Area Stakeholder Advisory Group to Host Community Meeting
In lieu of the City of Alexandria's Ad Hoc Fort Ward Park and Museum Area Stakeholder Advisory Group's regular scheduled meeting on May 13, the group and City staff will host a community meeting at 7 p.m. at the Minnie Howard 9th Grade Center, located at 3801 West Braddock Rd. Republican Primary Absentee Voting for Eligible City Voters Now Open
Absentee voting opened to eligible voters on May 7. Many Alexandria voters are eligible to vote absentee, and you may cast your absentee vote in person at the Alexandria Voter Registration Office, 132 North Royal Street, or by mail. The deadline for voting absentee in person is Saturday, June 5 at 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.alexandriavoter.org or call 703.746.4050.

Nominations for the 2010 Alexandria Beautification Awards 
The City of Alexandria’s Beautification Commission is accepting nominations for the 2010 Alexandria Beautification Awards. The awards program recognizes City residents, organizations, and businesses for their efforts in contributing to the beautification of City neighborhoods and public vistas with landscaping and aesthetic design. Nominations must be received by Thursday, May 20. To make a nomination, visit www.alexandriava.gov/31634. The Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission is seeking nominations for the 2010 CIVIC Awards. The annual awards program recognizes the unsung volunteer efforts of Alexandrians who are involved in their communities and who have provided a valuable service to Alexandria in meeting recreation, park, or cultural needs. Individuals can nominate an Alexandria resident, group, club, organization, or corporate neighbor. Nominations must be received by Thursday, June 10.
