Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery at BB&T Bank Located on South Van Dorn Street

Alexandria Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier today at the BB&T Bank, located at 233 South Van Dorn Street. 

Around 11:15 A.M., a man walked into the bank, approached the teller and brandished a handgun.  The suspect demanded money, the teller complied and the suspect fled the bank.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’0” to 6’1”.  He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark blazer, light pants and carrying a dark green and black backpack. 

The investigation is ongoing.
