Alexandria Police, Accreditation Assessors Seek Public Comment

In preparation for the Alexandria Police Department's national re-accreditation, the assessment team is inviting public comment.  A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive on Saturday, April 17, and will remain on-site through Tuesday, April 20, to examine all aspects of the Alexandria Police Department's policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and community members are encouraged to offer comments at a public meeting on Monday, April 19, at 5:00 P.M., in the City Council Work Room, Room 2410 at City Hall, 301 King St.  If an individual is unable to attend the public meeting, but wishes to provide comments, he or she may call the assessment team on Sunday, April 18, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., at (703) 838-4598.

Individuals with disabilities who require assistance or special arrangements to participate in the public meeting may call the Public Information Office at (703) 838-4636 or (703) 838-4896 (TTY/TDD).  We request 48-hour notice so that the proper arrangements may be made.
