Alexandria Police Conduct Business Compliance Checks

On Friday, March 12, members of the Alexandria Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Division conducted business compliance checks to identify establishments that sell alcohol to minors.  This undercover operation occurred as part of the ongoing Youth Alcohol/Business Compliance enforcement campaign.  An underage police department volunteer dressed in plain clothes entered the business and attempted to purchase alcohol.  If asked whether he was 21 years of age, the volunteer was to respond with their true age and/or date of birth.  If asked for identification, the volunteer provided his Virginia Driver’s License that showed that he was 17 years old.  If the sale of alcohol took place, then the store clerk would be charged appropriately.

As a result of this operation, twenty locations were entered.  Three arrests were made at the following locations:

1025 W. Glebe Road
