Tuesday, January 19 – Deadline Extended! Alexandria Marketing Fund Applications Due
Applications are now being accepted through Tuesday, January 19, for the Alexandria Marketing Fund, a program administered by the Alexandria Marketing Committee. The program is designed to encourage public-private partnerships that promote the City as a destination for visiting, shopping, dining and doing business. City Council appropriates monies for the fund on an annual basis and the Marketing Committee reviews and approves applications for funding. Information, guidelines, and an online application are available at alexandriava.gov/MarketingFund. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, January 19. Wednesday, January 20 – Beauregard Corridor Plan Community Transportation Workshop
The City will hold a Beauregard Corridor Plan Community Transportation Workshop from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at William Ramsay Elementary School, 5700 Sanger Ave. At the workshop, the public will have the opportunity to discuss transportation issues in the Beauregard Corridor Plan study area and residents will participate in a hands-on exercise to identify options for future transportation improvements. This workshop is being coordinated with the efforts of the BRAC-133 Advisory Group. For more information, contact Dirk Geratz at 703.746.3815.

Thursday, January 21 – Carlyle Design Review Board Meeting
The Carlyle Design Review Board will convene at 7 p.m. in Room 2000, City Hall, to discuss development plans in the Carlyle/Eisenhower East Planning Area. For more information, contact Natalie Sun at 703.746.3820.

The City of Alexandria expects Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 to be another challenging year based on early economic forecasts. As the City begins the budget process, we would like your input regarding the FY 2011 Operating Budget and Capitol Improvement Program. Residents are encouraged to submit their comments online at alexandriava.gov/Budget.
