Alexandria Police have identified the suspect in Friday’s homicide as Jose Russo, 50, of Alexandria. Autopsy results determined he died of a self inflicted gunshot wound to his upper body.
The surviving victim who was injured in the shooting is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Alexandria Police have identified the victim of Friday’s homicide as Kossi Djossou, 19, of Fairfax County.
On Friday, December 18, at approximately 7:30 P.M., officers responded for a report of shots fired. Upon their arrival, they found two victims. One victim was transported to a local hospital. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives and officers responded to the scene and immediately began canvassing the area for the suspect. The suspect was located several hours later. When officers approached, he inflicted himself with a fatal gun shot wound. The suspect's identity is being held pending notification of next of kin.
This is the fifth homicide in Alexandria this year. There were four homicides in Alexandria last year.
