Alexandria Police Release Composite Sketch of Robbery Suspect

Alexandria Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Pendleton Street.  On November 14, around 5:15 p.m., a 77-year-old city resident was in his car, backing out of a parking space, when he noticed the suspect approaching him.  The victim rolled down his window to talk with the suspect.  After talking for a few minutes, the suspect pressed something hard against the victim’s neck and demanded money.  The victim relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect ordered the victim to get out of the car and made him walk away as he fled the area.  There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as black, in his thirties, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.  He was wearing a baseball cap and dark jacket.  The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone recognizing the person depicted in the sketch or anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call Detective Will Oakley at 703.838.4314 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703.838.4858.

Detectives would like to remind witnesses that they can remain anonymous.
