The City of Alexandria's Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing for staff to present recommendations on new and increased fees for programs and services provided by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities. The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St.
As part of the City’s annual budget process, staff reviews and makes recommendations for new and increased fees for Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities programs and services. The purpose of the public hearing is to present these fee recommendations and to receive public comment. After discussion on fees, the Commission will hear comments from City residents on any other park and recreation related issue not previously discussed in a public hearing by the Commission. The regular meeting of the Commission will follow.
Individuals who are unable to attend the public hearing can view the fee recommendations at alexandriava.gov/recreation on Friday, November 20, and send written comments to the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, Attention: William Chesley, 1108 Jefferson St., Alexandria, VA 22314, or e-mail william.chesley@alexandriava.gov. The deadline to submit comments is 5 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2009.
