Saturday, November 7 – Fiscal Year 2011 Budget Meeting
The City of Alexandria invites residents and the media to join Mayor William D. Euille and members of the Alexandria City Council for a public meeting to discuss the City’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 Budget. The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the T&ES and Recreation Maintenance Operation Facilities, 2900 Business Center Dr. To obtain a copy of the agenda, please visit www.alexandriava.gov/budget.

Saturday, November 7 – Fort Ward Park History Group Meeting
Interested participants are invited to the Fort Ward Park History Group meeting at Fort Ward Museum, 4301 W. Braddock Rd., from 10 a.m. to noon. Workgroup members are recording family history, identifying features such as graves, documenting historical photographs including family and landscape images, and other projects related to the history of the site and in particular, to the African-American community that existed at Fort Ward. Monday, November 9 – Eisenhower East Community Meeting
A community meeting regarding a development project on Eisenhower East Blocks 11 and 12 is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 2640 Eisenhower Ave. For more information, contact Natalie Sun at 703.746.3820.

Monday, November 9 – Metrorail Station Feasibility Work Group Meeting
The next meeting of the Metrorail Station Feasibility Work Group will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sisters Cities Conference Room 1101, City Hall, 301 King St. This group was established by City Council to assess the technical and financial analyses required for a potential new Metrorail Station in Potomac Yard. Wednesday, November 11 – City of Alexandria government offices, libraries, and recreation centers are open on Veterans Day, observed on November 11.

Thursday, November 12 – President Gerald R. Ford Park Dedication
Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille and members of the Alexandria City Council will hold a dedication ceremony for the President Gerald R. Ford Park, 1422 & 1426 Janney’s Lane, at 4 p.m. For additional information or to RSVP, call Jack Browand at 703.746.5504.

Monday, November 16 – Alexandria’s Second Half Real Estate Tax Due 
The City of Alexandria reminds property owners that the second half 2009 Real Estate Tax and Refuse Fee payments are due November 16. The Finance Department urges Alexandria property owners to avoid waiting in line by visiting alexandriava.gov/payments to pay by eCheck, automatic bank debit or credit card; using the online service alexandriava.gov/finance; mailing a check or money order to the Treasurer’s Office, P.O. Box 34750; dropping off a check or money order at the drop box located on the Royal Street side of City Hall; or visiting any SunTrust Bank branch located in the City by 5 p.m. on November 16.  For more information on real estate tax, please visit www.alexandriava.gov/realestatetax.
