[Archived] Alexandria Health Department Vaccination Clinic Information

A limited number of nasal H1N1 vaccine doses will be available at the Alexandria Health Department, 4480 King St., on Friday morning, October 23.

Beginning at 8 a.m., numbers will be given to people wishing to receive the vaccine, with vaccination administration starting at 8:30 a.m. The Health Department will stop giving out numbers once the limit of the vaccine supply has been reached.

This vaccination clinic is focused on providing vaccine to young children (including pre-school children) and parents of young children, especially those with babies less than 6 months old. The nasal form of the vaccine can be given to healthy children and adults between 2 and 49 years old who are not pregnant, are not immunosuppressed and do not have asthma. No injectable vaccine will be available at this site at this time.

Students in the Alexandria City Public Schools and many private schools in the City will have vaccine available in the schools over the next two to four weeks; consent forms will be sent home with students close to anticipated vaccination dates. The schedule for school vaccinations will be adjusted depending on availability of vaccine.

Once additional doses of H1N1 vaccine are available, information on vaccination clinic sites will be posted on the City of Alexandria Web site.
