Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery at M&T Bank Located on South Washington Street

Alexandria Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the M & T Bank, located at 833 South Washington Street.  Around 2:45 P.M., a man walked into the bank, approached the teller and brandished a firearm.  The suspect demanded money, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described as an unknown race male.  He was wearing a hockey mask and a light colored hooded sweatshirt with a green jacket over top of the sweatshirt.  The investigation is ongoing.
