The BRAC Advisory Group will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Burke Branch Library, 4701 Seminary Rd. In February of 2009, City Council created this group to serve as a forum for developing ideas and recommendations related to transportation improvements and other issues associated with the BRAC-133 office building. The 2010 Census Complete Count Committee will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 2000, Alexandria City Hall, 301 King St. The 2010 US Census will officially kick off on April 1, 2010 and the City of Alexandria is making preparations now to ensure that Alexandria's population is counted accurately. Call for Artists for Charles Hamilton Houston Memorial
The City of Alexandria has announced a Call for Artists for the Charles Hamilton Houston Memorial to be located at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. The City will conduct the search for qualified applicants through a Request for Qualifications. The deadline for submission is October 1, 2009, at 4 p.m. EDT. The anticipated installation date of the Charles Hamilton Houston Memorial is April 2011.
