The City of Alexandria’s Citizen Assistance Department offers the 8-week Alexandria Citizens Academy program, which provides residents with the opportunity to gain exposure and learn about City government through first-hand experience with the wide range of government functions, services, activities and issues.

Classes will take place on Thursdays, October 1 through November 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Meetings will occur in various locations around the City. The Citizens Academy is open to City residents ages 18 and over, and to business owners within the City limits.

Class size is limited to 15 to 20 students and space fills up quickly! The deadline for registration is Friday, September 25. To request an application, please visit alexandriava.gov/Citizen, call 703.746.4800 for a fax, or pick up a copy at City Hall, 301 King St., Room 1900.
