Alexandria Police Arrest Parking Enforcement Officer

Yesterday, Alexandria Police arrested an Alexandria Police Department Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) for her involvement in obtaining and using fraudulent handicap placards.  Gail Yvette Jones, 41, of District Heights, Maryland, was charged with one felony count of forgery and uttering and one misdemeanor count of obtaining a document under false pretenses.  Jones was also issued a summons for parking a vehicle in a space reserved for persons with disabilities, a violation of the Commonwealth of Virginia Traffic Code.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
