Executive Deputy Police Chief Earl Cook Remains Acting Police Chief

For Immediate Release: July 28, 2009

Today, July 28, Alexandria City Manager James K. Hartmann announced that Alexandria Chief of Police David P. Baker has chosen to separate from City employment and retire effective Friday, July 31.

Executive Deputy Police Chief Earl Cook remains the Acting Chief of the Alexandria Police Department until further notice. Chief Cook is a 30-year veteran of the Alexandria Police Department, has served as Executive Deputy Chief of Police since August 2006, and served as an Alexandria Deputy Chief of Police for 12 years.
