Wednesday, July 15 – BRAC Advisory Group Meeting
The BRAC Advisory Group will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Burke Library, 4701 Seminary Rd. The BRAC Advisory Group serves as a forum for developing ideas and recommendations relating to transportation improvements and other issues associated with the BRAC-133 office building. Thursday, July 16 – Park and Recreation Commission Public Hearing and Regular Meeting 
The City of Alexandria's Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to review and discuss the conceptual plan for the Contrabands and Freedmen's Cemetery Memorial. The public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St. After discussion on the Cemetery Memorial has concluded, the Commission will hear comments from City residents on any other park and recreation related issue not previously discussed in a public hearing by the Commission. Thursday, July 16 – Carylyle/Eisenhower East Design Review Board Meeting
The Carylyle Design Review Board Meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 2000, City Hall, 301 King St. For more information, contact Natalie Sun at 703.746.3820.

Wednesday, July 22 – Public Workshop on Metro’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Study
Do you currently walk or bike to the Metro? Would you like to start? Learn more and share your ideas at a Public Workshop on Metro’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Planning Study at the Lobby Meeting Room, Metro Headquarters, 600 5th St., NW, Washington, D.C. This event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. Offer your suggestions, discuss study objectives, and help us improve access to Metro stations.

Tuesday, July 28 – Police Memorial Community Meeting
The Alexandria Police Memorial will be an integral part of the new Alexandria Police Department Headquarters building scheduled to open in the fall of 2011 on Wheeler Ave. A community meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Bishop Ireton High School Cafeteria, 201 Cambridge Rd. The City of Alexandria is conducting a competition to select an artist and design and has formed a Selection Panel representing a cross-section of Police groups and artists/design professionals.
