Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery at BB&T Bank Located on South Van Dorn Street

Alexandria Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the BB&T bank, located at 233 South Van Dorn Street.  Around 5:20 P.M., a man walked into the bank, approached the teller and implied he had a handgun.  The suspect demanded money, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and unshaven.  He was wearing light colored pants, a long black t-shirt, a dark colored Chicago White Sox baseball hat with the word Sox in white lettering displayed vertically and white tennis shoes.
