[Archived] Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille to Visit Saudi Arabia

Alexandria, Virginia Mayor William D. Euille announced today he will travel to Saudi Arabia May 7-14, as a guest of the Saudi Arabia government, to promote the City and to learn more about Saudi Arabia. The mission, organized through the U.S. Conference of Mayors, includes ten other U.S. Mayors.

The mayors will have the opportunity to learn about the Saudi economy, culture and government and will meet with high-ranking Saudi business people, government officials and students. Delegation members are guests of the Saudi government, which is providing all the funding for the mission. There is no expense to Alexandria taxpayers.

“This unique mission will give us an opportunity to exchange ideas, share economic practices and to market the City of Alexandria to the business and government leaders in Saudi Arabia,” said Mayor Euille.

Members of the delegation traveling to Saudi Arabia include: Mayors William V. “Bill” Bell, Durham, NC; J. Christian Bollwage, Elizabeth, NJ; Ardell F. Brede, Rochester, MN; Mark Burroughs, Denton, TX; William D. “Bill” Euille, Alexandria, VA; Bill Gluba, Davenport, IA; Phil Gordon, Phoenix, AZ; Mark Mallory, Cincinnati, OH; John Marks, Tallahassee, FL; James J. Schmitt, Green Bay, WI; and Mark Stodola, Little Rock, AR.
