Alexandria Police Investigate Hit and Run Accident at the Intersection of Beauregard Street and Braddock Road

Alexandria Police are investigating a Hit and Run Accident that occurred earlier today at the intersection of Beauregard Street and Braddock Road.  At approximately 11:30 a.m., an Alexandria City school bus was traveling northbound on Beauregard Street when it was struck from behind by a white 1990 Honda that had swerved to avoid another vehicle.  That vehicle was identified as a red Honda, with unknown tags, and fled the scene of the accident.

There were 33 students from Jefferson Houston Elementary School aboard the bus.  Five of these children were transported to INOVA Alexandria Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  The bus driver and the occupants of the white Honda were not injured.
