Alexandria Police Upgrade Online Crime Search Database

The Alexandria Police Department has added a new feature to crimereports.com.  The Website now provides a short synopsis of a crime in addition to the time and date of the incident.  This feature has been applied to nearly all crimes that occurred after January 1, 2009.  It will be a standard feature on all future listings.  To access crimereports.com, visit www.alexandriava.gov/police

On November 6, 2008, the Alexandria Police Department began participating in the crimereports.com Website.  The crimereports.com Website is a tool to help increase awareness and knowledge of criminal incidents, crime trends, and crime patterns.  It allows residents to view crime for an entire region, neighborhood or block.  The data represented on crimereports.com, extracted from the Alexandria Police Department’s Records Management System, is divided into several general categories on the crimereports.com site.  This data represents crimes that have been reported to the Alexandria Police Department.
