Alexandria Police Make Arrests in Murder of Cab Driver

Alexandria detectives have arrested two adults and one juvenile for the murder of Khalil Siddiqi.  Joshua Moore, 18, of Prince George’s County, Maryland, and Jamal Berry, 20, of Alexandria, Virginia, were charged with Murder and Robbery.  The 16 year-old juvenile, also an Alexandria resident, was charged with Murder and Robbery.

On January 18, at approximately 12:21 A.M., police found a cab driver unresponsive in his vehicle at the intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street.  Medics arrived and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy determined the manner of death to be homicide.  The cause of death was determined to be a gun shot wound to the upper body.

“This case was solved quickly because of the tireless efforts of our detectives and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office,” said Alexandria Police Chief David P. Baker, “I appreciate everyone’s diligence, focus, hard work, and timely results in this case.”

This is the first homicide in Alexandria this year.  There were four homicides in Alexandria last year.
