The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas, in effect from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27 due to the possibility of 2-3 inches of snow. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain may cause travel difficulties.
The Winter Storm Watch is still in effect for Tuesday evening (January 27) through Wednesday afternoon (January 28). A Winter Storm Watch means that there is the potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. It is expected that snow and sleet will mix with freezing rain Tuesday evening with a transition to rain on Wednesday.
