UPDATE: Alexandria Police Investigate Homicide at the Intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street

Alexandria police have identified the victim of yesterday’s homicide as Khalil Siddiqi, a 50 year-old Fairfax man.  Police found a cab driver unresponsive in his vehicle at the intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street.  Medics arrived and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has determined the manner of death to be homicide.  The cause of death was determined to be a gun shot wound to the upper body.

Detectives are looking at robbery as a possible motive.

This is the first homicide in Alexandria this year.  There were four homicides in Alexandria last year.

Alexandria Police Investigate Suspicious Death at the Intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street

Alexandria police are investigating the suspicious death of a male whose body was found in his cab.

Today, at approximately, 12:21 A.M., police found a cab driver unresponsive in his vehicle at the intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street.  Medics arrived and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are on the scene, canvassing the area in search of possible witnesses.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.  The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
