Alexandria Police Seek Help to Identify Attempted Robbery Suspect

The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the attempted robbery of the 7-11 store located at 2 South Jordan Street.  The attempted robbery took place on November 9.

On November 9, at approximately 12:50 A.M., the suspect entered the business.  He approached the clerk with his face covered and demanded the clerk come to register.  The clerk refused unless the suspect uncovered his face and the suspect left the store.  The suspect returned five minutes later with his face uncovered and demanded money.  The clerk ran to the rear of the store and the suspect then fled.  There were no injuries

The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 25 years-old, 5'11" to 6’ 02”.  He was last seen wearing a white shirt over his head, a grey shirt, denim shorts and all black shoes with blue laces.

Detectives would like to remind witnesses that they can remain anonymous. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective W. Oakley at the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703.838.4314 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703.838.4858.
