Alexandria Commission for the Arts Announces Call for Special Opportunity Award Applications

The City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts announces a call to art organizations to apply for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Special Opportunity Awards. Special Opportunity Awards are intended to support new and innovative projects that have clear visibility and long-lasting impact to the City of Alexandria.

Organizations may apply for funding for projects taking place January 1, 2009 through June 30, 2009. Up to $5,000 per project may be awarded and these awards do not require matching funds by the organization. The application deadline is Monday, December 1, 2008. The Alexandria Commission for the Arts will review proposals at the Commission’s December 16 meeting. 

To apply, please e-mail your application as a word document to aca@alexandriava.gov, or hand deliver or mail it to the Dr. Oswald Durant Memorial Center, 1605 Cameron St., Alexandria, VA  22314. Applications must be received by the application deadline.
