Alexandria Police Investigate Suspicious Package

Earlier today, Alexandria police investigated three suspicious packages located in the 400 block of South Union Street.  Around 1:20 P.M. police were called to Union Street for the report of three found suspicious packages.  Upon arrival, officers located the packages and set up a perimeter.

Arlington County Fire Department’s Bomb Squad assisted in identifying the suspicious packages.  After approximately two hours of investigation, all three packages were determined to be non-explosive.  The packages were detonated at the scene.  There were no injuries.

The 300 to 500 blocks of Union Street were closed for two hours during this incident.
