Seeks Input Through Needs Assessment Survey
 
The Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities (ACPD) is currently seeking input from City residents through a Needs Assessment survey. If you are a person with a disability, a family member of a person with a disability, or a service provider to persons with disabilities, please take the Needs Assessment survey today at alexandriava.gov/acpdsurvey.

The ACPD represents people with physical and sensory disabilities and serves as the Disability Services Board for the City of Alexandria. Physical and sensory disabilities include hearing loss, deafness, vision loss, blindness and medical conditions that make it difficult to move. As part of its work, the ACPD advocates for the unmet needs of people with disabilities including, but not limited to, increased access to programs and services.

Every three years, all 40 of Virginia’s local Disability Services Boards survey people with disabilities and service providers about services in their communities. The results of the Alexandria survey are used to develop a local Needs Assessment Report, which is provided to state and local officials. This report will be used to help determine what areas need priority funding and targeted resources to improve the independence of people with physical and sensory disabilities in the City of Alexandria. Your response to this survey is greatly needed and is strictly confidential. Residents are encouraged to submit their surveys by January 15, 2009.
