Alexandria Police Identify Homicide Victim;
Alexandria Police Make Homicide Arrest

Alexandria police have identified the victim of yesterday’s homicide as Darrell Marcus Williams, Jr., a 35 year-old man of no fixed address.  Police were called to the 200 block of South Whiting Street around 8:30 P.M. for the report of shots fired.  The victim died at the scene.

An autopsy performed today has determined the manner of death to be homicide.  The cause of death was determined to be multiple gun shot wounds.

Alexandria detectives arrested an Alexandria man for the murder of Darrell Marcus Williams earlier today.  Randy Baldon, 25, of 240 South Reynolds Street, was charged with First Degree Murder. 

This is the third homicide in Alexandria this year.  There were eight homicides in Alexandria last year.

Note: A photo of suspect is not being released at this time as detectives still need to interview additional witnesses.
