2008 Vehicle Personal Property Tax Billing

The City of Alexandria has mailed 2008 Vehicle Personal Property Tax bills to all vehicle owners who have lived in the City for all or part of calendar year 2008.  If you do not receive a personal property tax bill by September 15, please e-mail the Personal Property Tax Branch at vehicletax@alexandriava.gov or call 703.838.4560.  You may also e-mail the City’s Treasury Division at payments@alexandriava.gov or call 703.838.4777.  Taxpayers who have had a change of address or have any information that may change their vehicle tax assessment should contact the Personal Property Tax Branch (if they have not already done so) so that an adjusted bill can be provided for them prior to the October 6 due date.

The following events may affect the annual assessment or billing of personal property tax: a move to another jurisdiction or another state; or the sale, donation, trade, destruction or other disposal of the vehicle.  For more information on adjustments to personal property tax accounts, visit alexandriava.gov/finance and click on “Personal Property (Vehicle) Tax” in the More Information sidebar.
