The City of Alexandria's Annual Cambodian Community Day Festival is
scheduled for Sunday, August 24, from noon to 6 p.m. at Ben Brenman Park,
4800 Brenman Park Dr. Admission is free and the event will be held rain or
shine.
The theme for the festival is “Discover Cambodia.” Entertainment features
the Cambodian Mohoree Music Ensemble, classical dances, folk dances, and
the Stung Khiev band. Displays will showcase traditional arts and crafts,
paintings, and souvenirs. Activities include a cooking show, silk flower
making, a language class and an arts and crafts exhibition. Cambodian and
other Asian food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The City's Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, and the
Cambodian Community Day Committee are cosponsoring the festival. Cambodian
Community Day is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy,
preservation and promotion of Cambodian culture and heritage.
Limited parking is available at Ben Brenman Park, and the public is
