Account Updates for Upcoming Vehicle Personal Property Tax Billing

The City of Alexandria will begin preparing 2008 Vehicle Personal Property Tax bills in the coming weeks. Taxpayers who have had a change of address or have any information that may change their vehicle tax assessment should contact the Personal Property Tax Branch before Friday, June 27.

The following events may affect the annual assessment or billing of personal property tax: a change of address within the City; a move to another jurisdiction or another state; or the sale, donation, trade, destruction or other disposal of the vehicle. Changes may be reported to the Personal Property Tax Branch by e-mail at vehicletax@alexandriava.gov; by phone at 703.838.4560; or in person at City Hall, 301 King St., Suite 1410, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please note that you may be required to provide documentation for some account changes.
