FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 9, 2008

Metrorail Derailment Creates Delays on Orange Line Today
Orange Line Trains “Single-Tracking” between Clarendon, Foggy Bottom

An Orange Line train (headed toward Vienna) derailed this afternoon around 2:45 p.m. between Rosslyn and Court House Metrorail stations. Trains are currently sharing one track between Clarendon and Foggy Bottom (single-tracking). The Blue Line is operating with regular service.

Free shuttle buses will be operating at Foggy Bottom, Virginia Square and Court House Metrorail stations along the Orange Line. Customers can expect lengthy delays as they wait for shuttle buses as they must move in rush hour traffic. Metro customers can expect major delays on the Orange Line throughout the remainder of the day.
