City of Alexandria Sponsors Free Basketball Clinics to City’s Youth
The Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will sponsor a series of free basketball clinics with the coaches from T.C. Williams, Bishop Ireton, and St. Stephens & St. Agnes High Schools. Basketball clinics are available for City of Alexandria residents ages 12 to 17 (age as of June 1, 2008). Clinics are scheduled as follows:
Saturday, May 10
George Washington Middle School, 1005 Mt. Vernon Ave.
9:30-10:30 a.m. (ages 12 to 14) and 10:30-11:30 a.m. (ages 15 to 17)
Clinic features the coaching staff from T.C. Williams High School
Saturday, June 7
Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Rd.
9:30-10:30 a.m. (ages 12 to 14) and 10:30-11:30 a.m. (ages 15 to 17)
Clinic features the coaching staff from Bishop Ireton High School
Saturday, June 14
Francis C. Hammond Middle School, 4646 Seminary Rd.
9:30 -10:30 a.m. (for ages 12 to 14) and 10:30-11:30 a.m. (ages 15 to 17)
Clinic features the coaching staff from St. Stephens/St. Agnes High School
The free basketball clinics are a kick off to the 2008 Johnson & Siebert Summer Basketball League, for participants ages 12 to 17 (age as of June 1, 2008). There is a $20 registration fee for the league and the deadline to register is June 9.
