Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille Selected to Serve on Board of Chesapeake Crescent 

Alexandria Mayor William D. Euille has been selected to serve on the board of directors for the newly-established Chesapeake Crescent, an innovative public-private partnership between the states of Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the federal government.  This partnership, the first of its kind, will integrate the region as one entity with shared goals and objectives.  The Chesapeake Crescent will collaborate on economic, social, and environmental initiatives that collectively serve more than 14 million residents in a region that includes Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington, DC, Charlottesville, Richmond, and Hampton Roads.

The Chesapeake Crescent will be publicly introduced at the United States Capitol on Tuesday, January 29, at 11:30 a.m. in Room H-137.  Government leaders from Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, senior members of Congress and the federal government, and representatives from the private sector, academia, and civic institutions will formally announce their mutual commitment to the Chesapeake Crescent to solve regional challenges and build economic prosperity.

The thirty-member board of directors will develop strategic guidance on the organization’s initiatives and provide oversight to its steering committee.
