City Announces Schedule of Services in Observance of Christmas Holiday, December 24 and 25

All Alexandria City government offices will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

All City of Alexandria recreation centers, including the Chinquapin Recreation Center, will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25.

All City of Alexandria Libraries will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25.

DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday schedule, with service ending at 7 p.m., on Monday, December 24. DASH bus service will not operate on Tuesday, December 25.

Residential trash and recycling will be collected on the regularly scheduled day on Monday, December 24. Residential trash and recycling will not be collected on Tuesday, December 25, and all collections will be delayed one day for the rest of the week.

The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits, on December 24 and 25.

The following Commonwealth of Virginia offices located in Alexandria will be closed on December 24 and 25: The General and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, the Circuit Court, and the DMV Office at 2681 Mill Road.

The Alexandria Health Department, one of 35 district offices operated by the Virginia Department of Health’s Division of Community Services, will be closed on December 24 and 25. The Flora Krause Casey Health Center (1200 N. Howard St.) and the Adolescent Health Center (3701 W. Braddock Road) will also be closed on December 24 and 25.

All emergency hotlines operated by the Alexandria Office on Women operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the domestic violence hotline, 703.838.4911, and the sexual assault hotline, 703.683.7273.
