Alexandria Police Investigate West End Sexual Assaults

Alexandria police are investigating three sexual assaults that have occurred on the West End of the City. Although they are not linked by evidence, similarities between the cases indicate a possible connection. The victims were all attacked from behind while walking alone.

The most recent assault occurred this morning, shortly before 6:00 A.M., at the intersection of Edsall Road and South Pickett Street. In this case the suspect dragged the victim behind a trailer and assaulted her. The first assault occurred on Friday, August 31, at approximately 5:00 A.M. in the 1200 block of North Beauregard Street, near the Holmes Run bike path. The suspect grabbed the victim as she was walking and dragged her into the woods. The second assault occurred on Monday, November 5, at approximately 6:00 A.M., at the intersection of North Beauregard Street and North Morgan Street. The suspect grabbed the victim as she walked by and dragged her toward the woods. In this case, the suspect struck the woman on the head, knocking her unconscious.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’07” to 6’00”. In the latest attack he was wearing dark clothing. In the last two attacks he wore a dark colored ski mask.

Anyone with information regarding these assaults is asked to call Alexandria Police detectives at 703-838-4711 or 703-838-4444.
