City of Alexandria Co-Sponsors
21st Annual Caregiver Conference

The City of Alexandria invites the public to attend Caregiving 101, a conference that will provide valuable information to persons caring for or working with individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. The Department of Human Services’ Office of Aging and Adult Services is co-sponsoring this 21st Annual Caregiver Conference, scheduled for Monday, November 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King St.

Conference topics will include home caregiving, communication and behavior, legal issues, assisted living and laughter yoga. Registration costs $25 for family caregivers and $40 for all others. This fee includes breakfast and a catered lunch. The registration deadline is Monday, November 5. Free parking is available in the church parking lot.

The conference is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Dementia Care Consortium, which includes representatives from the Department of Human Services’ Office of Aging and Adult Services, The Alzheimer’s Association, and many other local government and senior service providers.
