City of Alexandria Schedules September 11 Ceremony

The City of Alexandria will hold its annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony at City Hall’s Market Square, 301 King St., on Tuesday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held immediately following the City’s Annual Citizenship Day event at 6 p.m. on Market Square.

The City government invites community members to join the Alexandria City Council, representatives of Alexandria's Police, Fire and Sheriff's Departments and the City government at the ceremony, which will include remarks by Mayor William D. Euille, a prayer offered by a member of the local clergy, and a moment of silence to acknowledge the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
